Brandon is an alumnus of the SCCJ PhD program. He is a former police officer, and he received his Juris Doctor from Louisiana State University in 2016. His research is focused on evidence-based policing, use of force, and disparities. From 2022 to 2025, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminology & Criminal Justice at UTSA. Since August 2025, he has been the Director of Research for the Excellence in Policing and Public Safety (EPPS) Program at the University of South Carolina Joseph F. Rice School of Law.
